Got myself PS CS4 this week and need to play around a bit to get used to it.
Wasn't very pleased with this :thumb136100136: version i have made earlier and today i was in the mood for giving it another try. And that way i could also try the animation feature of CS4 as well :D

=BlissfullySarcastic linked me to several tutorials but i ended using one of my old emotes(yes i did a lot some years ago) as a base.

Now i just need to learn how to animate right :slow:

Have any suggestions? Would love to hear them :la:

animation is a tricky thing. What I always try to do is actually look at how I would actually move then replicate that movement, Tween etc. and then remove frames in areas where movement is faster. once you do that if it doesnt look right, adjust the positioning a second time. Now the biggest key for animating is to relax, and invest the time it takes. I was awwarded a Daily Deviation for my animation about a year ago.

"I would actually move then replicate that movement, Tween etc." and that's where i already get lost. I did tweening in Flash and i know what i want to do, but i lack the knowledge to actually do those things in PS. I have no idea how to make smooth animations like for example `CookiemagiK does. :slow:
That's why i stick to simple things most of the time.

Tweening is a tricky thing to learn because sometimes it fades and sometimes it actually moves the image. You really got to figure out what your photoshop does because they are all different.

Assuming you know how to get the animation box open. you have one frame in there. there are a variety of tools in there all labled. your first frame arange your layers and such how you want them to look. HAVE EACH PIECE ON A DIFFERENT LAYER. This makes for more fun in animation. so copy the first frame and take out your move tool, re arange each piece to the next motion. copy that fram and keep doing this untill you have a full animation. Tweening is so you can move a piece drasticly and it will fill the animation in between. now for things like explosions or morphing pieces, you have to have each change on a different layer and hide and show as you go from frame to frame.

lol yeah, i know that - like i told you, but i lack the motiviation and patience to fiddle with those smaller movement and/or make a billion layers

This is gorgeous :faint: I've tried to do eyelashes and I'm jealous you made them so pretty when you're not even a pixel artist

I would suggest animating the mouth too, make it smoochy like the :flirty: emote but better. :slow:

The eyelashes are more of a lucky accident lol- i just played around and somehow did the right things :giggle:

I will try to make different emotes, just wanted to get some base first. Need a lot of emotes for myself :plotting:

So now that I've finally separated my two accounts you're gonna start submitting emoticons on an account I watch for CSS. :tantrum:

Nah, don't worry. Can't wait to see what else you come up with :smooch:
