Another personal template, requested by *AnnatheWolf some time ago. Took me ages to make something good because she uses IE and that's why the layout should be one that will work with that browser.
The only "problem" was/is that textured backgrounds and IE doesn't really work good together.
So finally this is the result of a lot of testing. I know that there is a border at the bottom, but i'm not able to change that. Not with all these restrictions here.
The glowing sparks are attractive, and the colour range looks so earthy and natural. I find that "Piece of luck" title interesting, as it's very different.
My inspiration? Hm... from nearly everything i guess. When making journals for single persons i always ask them a lot of questions to know what they like, what they don't like and what could fit. At that point i have some kind of rough concept in mind. I rarely start with complete layouts and evolve it while searching for stock or references. Besides inspiration comes from my mood, the music that i'm listening to or maybe a quote that gives you a special feeling
Just start with it. Sometimes the inspiration will come later after you've added more and more stuff to your layout/templates.
I often have problems at the beginning especially if people request template that don't match with my personal interests. But once you get started it will be easier, because you have already something to work with. No matter if you like it or not
It's ok. Those questions are helpful for the walkthrough i'm working on
Most time i made pencil sketches. Sometimes of a complete layout, sometimes only some parts... sometimes only dividers or special graphics i want to use later. For my tribal templates i had the tribals made some days before... i just thought of some colors and put everything together without thinking about it too much. On the other hand i've made several sketches for the templates i've made for the calendar project. So it's always a different way to start.
