Mission fondant cake is complete and I am very happy with the result.  Pixel Rose 
Was my first try ever with fondant. I haven't done any testing before, so I had no idea if I will succeed or not. Still did a lot of reading before - otherwise I would have failed the extreme way!

No need to be jealous. This was my first try doing such a cake and if you are willing to do it, it's not that difficult. There are a few things you have to keep in mind, but it's not that difficult as i thought it would be.

I'm no good with designing food. That's why I'm jealous. It looks like you have a natural "Cake Boss" touch. You should open a shop, if you haven't already in designing cakes.

When you work with fondant it's like working with clay or similar materials.

I'm not good with working designs in polyclay either. Wish I were.

That might be right, but laws/rules in my country won't allow me to do it anyway, unless I have a title and education in that area.

Yes it is, I never touched that stuff before. But reading through a lot of tutorials and watching videos helped to understand the whole thing more right from the start.

Das ist wirklich ein Traum! Das wäre auch eine bomben Hochzeitstorte!!! Wirklich wunderschön. Ich bin immer noch ganz hin und weg (vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass du wirklich das erste Mal mit Fondant gearbeitet hast).

Ich hätte auch nicht gedacht, dass ich so gut mit den Rosen und allem klar komme. Sicherlich hat es extrem geholfen mich erst wochenlang einzulesen und zu planen, aber trotzdem. Da ist man dann schon ein bisschen stolz :giggle:

Nu hab ich allerdings noch soviel Fondant über (hab ja vorsichtshalber lieber mehr gekauft) und muß sehen, wie ich das wegkriegen :B

I wish I could do half what you did .. Y ou ARE very very good with your hands .. Can I ask plz:

Did you get a ready fondant or made it from scratch?
Are those cute leaves marks by hand or by a cutter??
Was the taste too sweet??

Again I was really impressed and jealous .. I even showed it to my mom .. Oh HBD to your mom btw :love:

I bought it, because making it from scratch wasn't something i wanted to be bothered with. For a start it feels more safe to have it ready, without the risk of ending up with fondant you can't use.
Mine is from "Satin Ice" - seems to be one of the major fondant brands. I had pure white and ivory colored with vanilla taste.
Tasted just a small bite, but it was ok. And none of the guests complained that it was too sweet either. Guess it depends on the combination and the filling. With the dark chocolate and the cherries it was ok.
