Because of all tutorials and other resources I have published over the years on DeviantArt most of the comments I get these days are about those.
Most of the time people don't realize that these tutorials and articles have been written quite some years ago and like all things DA changes as well... so do the things explained  there.

"This and that doesn't look/work like here anymore" is one of the most common things I see in my message center. It's no big deal, but somehow it annoys me that people don't manage to look up how old/new something is.
DA will change again and again... like it is currently changing. I am not always aware of these changes, because the only place I still visit regulary is my message center. DA changes in a way I can't keep up with (yes I still have no high-speed connection) and it doesn't really feel like home anymore.
Playing that broken record game is not my thing anymore either.

Because of that I really can't be bothered to look up features, problems and other things for random people. If you have a real problem I could help with, because it's about my CSS skins, I am more than willing to guide you... but I am not the HelpDesk. Never was. Never will be. Yes, we talked about that several times already ;)

That's why I decided to disable comments for ALL tutorials, DIY articles and other resources. For anyone having issues that only I can help with I will still be around, but everything else gets ignored now (yes I am that selfish now).
I wanted to take them down first, but someone somewhere might still gets some helpful bits from them.

The HelpDesk will be your friend for all matters regarding DeviantArt, not me.

And reading through tutorials/articles, as well as descriptions, carefully usually solves 50% of your questions/issues right away.
Also make sure you always check how old something is that you are reading. If it is more than a year old chances are very high that DA has changed again.

Other than that I hope that you have been able to spent some nice quality time with family and friends over the holiday season.
Have a great start for 2016 and make sure it will be a good one

Heh, yeah I've gotten that with more than a few of my user scripts. The site changes, and I don't have the time to investigate and update my script, and people start bitchin'. Just a problem, on the whole, with making tutorials or scripts or styles on a site that wants to update. Not much you can do, other than this (this journal), and explaining that you are attempting (or not) to work on updating things to work right with whatever version there is.

Sadly, it's caused me to really not want to continue writing scripts/styles for the site anymore. It was alright when the site updated yearly, but with this ever-current updating cycle they are doing, forget it.
