Daily Deviations (DDs) are a topic full of controversy. To raise awareness of what a DD really is and how people should act in case they disagree, let's take a closer look at the DD related FAQs.

FAQ #18: Who selects Daily Deviations and how are they chosen?

This FAQ, as well as the group communityrelations, is your #1 resource for figuring out the right Community Volunteer or Staff member for your DD suggestions.
Additionally this FAQ lists some guidelines that apply for all possible DDs.

FAQ #61: What is a Daily Deviation?

There is a lot of misconception floating around about what Daily Deviations are or should be. This FAQ gives you the explanation you should stick to.

Also keep in mind that nothing like "masterpiece", "best of the best", "perfect" or similar appears among the DD description.
DDs can be quite simple or extremely complex and detailed. They represent different styles, categories/galleries and media. Not every DD will be something you agree with. In that case, see further below.

FAQ #313: How can I find out if someone already has a Daily Deviation?

Knowing if a deviant already has gotten any DDs is epecially helpful if you are going to suggest someone for it. There is the 6-months-rule which means an artist cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months.
Of course you can still suggest them, even though they just recently got a one, but then it might takes a while until the DD will be given and this will help you to figure out, why your suggestion was not taken into consideration yet.

FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?

We all have been there, that we went to take a look at the recent DDs and saw something we absolutely didn't like or agreed with.
While it is ok to express that in a matured way or leave constructive critique that you don't like the artwork and explain why, you shouldn't start blaming the artist for anything. Especially not for getting the DD.

Always try to imagine how you would feel when you see a lot of negative comments (sometimes even beyond all good manners) for an artwork of yours, even though it was not your fault for getting in the center of attention.

Talk to the CV who gave the DD or contact moonbeam13 about it instead.

Especially if you are unhappy with the DDs that get selected, you should make use of suggesting deviations or deviants that you think should get more attention.
